I know for sure I’m not the only one on this planet that sews for sustainable and ethical reasons... and we all know that caring for our clothes extends their lives significantly, meaning we can all be an outfit repeaters long into the future.

So I’d thought I’d take you through how I wash and care for my garments sustainably.

These are all small steps I took to when I started my journey to a more sustainable wardrobe 🌈

Recently I’ve been looking at my wardrobe and thinking to myself how much it’s changed since I decided to start building a sustainable wardrobe.

Four or five years ago my wardrobe was made up of mostly new fast fashion pieces and a few secondhand pieces. I didn’t know much about sustainable fashion, but something clicked in me and I decided I would quit buying new clothes and start making my own.

I couldn't hate the word “trend” more, I've associated it with fast fashion for so long 🤢 so I decided to flip it 🤸🏽‍♀️

I hate the word "trend" especially when it’s used by FF to make individuals constantly chase after certain style ideals that never last, and never make you feel satisfied because there’s always another micro trend around the corner to make you feel behind.

So instead of chasing a certain style, why not reframe our thinking to more positive, sustainable trends that don't cost the world.

I've recently started to notice that I'm getting very similar questions that come in after I've posted about what I've found. Usually along the lines of "What op shops are you going to?" "How do you find these beauties?" so I thought I'd share my thrifting secrets.
